Emerging Leaders Affinity Committee
Emerging Leaders Affinity Committee has launched its new Online
Journal, Pathways. Students and those new to the
profession may publish articles in this museum studies journal.
Submissions will be accepted from undergraduates, graduate
students, and professionals up to two years into their career.
Authors must be residing or attending a university in the
MPMA region. The deadline for the first issue is October 22,
of Purpose: A museum studies journal sponsored by the MPMA
Emerging Leaders affinity group, the journal will create a
publication outlet for emerging professionals.

- Submissions will be accepted
from undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals
up to two years into their career. Authors must be residing
or attending a university in the MPMA region. Authors must
be members of both MPMA and the EL affinity group.
- Papers should relate to
the museum profession, and use a notation style appropriate
for the discipline ( Chicago , MLA, etc.). Manuscripts should
be double spaced with one inch margins on all sides. Please
include a cover sheet with your name, address, e-mail, phone
number, and institutional affiliation. As the peer review
process is anonymous, please do not include your name in
any other part of the paper.
- It is preferred that manuscripts
be submitted by e-mail, however, if this is not possible,
please send three hard copies and a c.d. or floppy disk
with the manuscript only to the address given below for
Alison Miller. Copies and disks will not be returned. MS
Word is the preferred format.
- Review Process: Papers
will be read by the editor for appropriate content. If the
paper is deemed appropriate, it will be sent to two peer
reviewers. Reviewers will make comments and editorial changes.
Reviewers will also make a recommendation to publish the
paper, or to return the paper with comments. This process
is intended to help the author in the case that the paper
is not selected for publication.
- Authors will be notified
of acceptance for publication, and reviewers comments will
be sent back to the authors for changes.
- Papers will be published
online, and notification sent out to the MPMA membership
when a new issue is released.
