The deadline for the first issue is October 22, 2004.

Submissions Guidelines

Statement of Purpose: A museum studies journal sponsored by the MPMA Emerging Leaders affinity group, the journal will create a publication outlet for emerging professionals.

Next deadline:  October 22, 2004

Submissions Policy:

  1. Submissions will be accepted from undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals up to two years into their career. Authors must be residing or attending a university in the MPMA region. Authors must be members of both MPMA and the EL affinity group.
  2. Papers should relate to the museum profession, and use a notation style appropriate for the discipline ( Chicago , MLA, etc.). Manuscripts should be double spaced with one inch margins on all sides. Please include a cover sheet with your name, address, e-mail, phone number, and institutional affiliation. As the peer review process is anonymous, please do not include your name in any other part of the paper.
  3. It is preferred that manuscripts be submitted by e-mail, however, if this is not possible, please send three hard copies and a c.d. or floppy disk with the manuscript only to the address given below for Alison Miller. Copies and disks will not be returned. MS Word is the preferred format.
  4. Review Process: Papers will be read by the editor for appropriate content. If the paper is deemed appropriate, it will be sent to two peer reviewers. Reviewers will make comments and editorial changes. Reviewers will also make a recommendation to publish the paper, or to return the paper with comments. This process is intended to help the author in the case that the paper is not selected for publication.

Notification:

  1. Authors will be notified of acceptance for publication, and reviewers comments will be sent back to the authors for changes.
  2. Papers will be published online, and notification sent out to the MPMA membership when a new issue is released.
